Welcome to Sevdah North America, Inc. (SNA)Sevdah North America, Inc. (SNA) is an all-volunteer educational organization formed in 2007 to preserve, promote, and document sevdah, the traditional urban music of town centers of old Bosnia and Herzegovina. SNA's events and projects range from small community events to major performances, recordings, and educational events. A special effort is made to create inter-generational activities that involve under-served communities and artists, recognizing that sevdah creates a musical bridge between cultures and offers a bottomless well of healing. Upcoming EventsSevdah artist Mirsad Zulic will have a party for his new album "Kazarcki Kamen" on November 19 at the Prijedor Club in Chicago at the corner of Kimball and Bryn Mawr, 7PM. In addition to Mr. Zulic's saz and vocals, the program will include Asim Bajramovic, Izet Dizdarevic, Sabrija Vulic, Safet Kozlica and Ekrem Bahonjic, and Esad Mehanovic (accordion), and Nedim "braco" Mulalic (guitar).
